Date of Passing: Feb 01, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMY IRENE CHAPPELL Peacefully, in her sleep, on February 1, 2003, Amy Irene passed away at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 89. Irene leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Judy (Ray) and Donna (Doug) son Richard Grenville; grandchildren, Gary, Rennie, Kristie, Jason, Deanne, Rene; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as stepchildren, Brian, Anne, Felicity, Katherine and their families. Born in Winnipeg in 1913, Irene moved to Fort William with husband Ray Fidoe where they lived and raised their three children for 23 years. During that time she attended and taught art classes specializing in oil, pastel and watercolours. After the completion of a commercial art course at the Lakehead University and the death of her husband in 1963, Irene moved to Winnipeg where she worked for Sears as a drapery consultant. She later became the arts and crafts supervisor for Deer Lodge Hospital, where she met and married Ron Chappell, in December 1975. Together they enjoyed their retirement years until his death in December 1995. As Irene wished, cremation has occurred and a private family memorial service will take place. Special thanks to the caring staff on the 5th floor of the Grace Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. "Those we love dont go away They walk beside us every day Unseen, unheard but always near Still loved, still missed and ever dear." They say mothers are hard to replace and Mom you were. No one will ever know how much you were loved and cared for. May God make you an angel. - Love forever and always, Richard Grenville NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
