Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID ZOLONDEK It is with our deepest sadness that the family of David Zolondek announces the passing on Saturday, February 1, 2003, of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend after a courageous battle with chronic lung disease. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his devoted wife Lorette; along with his four daughters and their families, Darlene, Ken, Lauren and Braden Beyers; Carole, Steve, Tyler, Gregory and Alexa Hawley; Lois, Richard, Matthew and Samantha Okrainec; and Connie, Jamie and Aliya Robertson; sisters, Irene (Jonas) Goossen, Alice (Roger) Buhay; and sister-in-law Marian Zolondek; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Zolondek; and brothers, Adolph and Clarence. Dave was born in Milner Ridge, MB on September 2, 1930. He moved to Lac du Bonnet in 1939 and after his schooling, he worked in McArthur Falls and then with Fred Dufily. In 1960, together with his brother Adolph, they established a successful plumbing business, Zolondek Bros. Ltd. He married Lorette in June 1960 and together, they enjoyed 42 years of marriage. Daves family and friends were all so important to him and he will be missed by us all. Dave was extremely proud of his family and always took a great interest in his grandchildren who held a very special place in his heart. His interests in life were music, playing his drums in various bands throughout the years, playing hola and crib with friends and family, socializing with everyone, young and old, and spending time on the farm that held special family memories. Our family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Schmidt and the staff at Beausejour Hospital, Pinawa doctors and staff, nurses Carol and Darryl, Julie, Marilyn and attendants, the doctors and staff of the MICU at St. Boniface Hospital and all those who sent their well wishes through phone calls, cards and visits. Memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Fr. Richard Machura, the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Lac du Bonnet cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
