WILLIAM HENRY (HARRY) COOKE It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, William Henry (Harry) Cooke at the age of 90 years at the Health Sciences Centre on February 1, 2003. He was predeceased by his wife Alice in 1984, granddaughter Nicole in 1964 and good friend Margo in 2001. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, three sons and their wives, Donald and Jean, Allan and Barbara and Kenneth and Theresa; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister Pearl (Charlie) Finn; his brother Ross (Erliss) Cooke; and many nieces and nephews. Dad was born on January 1, 1913, in Carman, MB to Harriet and Fred Cook. They later moved to Winnipeg where Dad met the love of his life, Alice, and they were married July 21, 1934. Dad went to work at an early age with Robinson & Webber and joined the army in 1941. After his honourable discharge he went back to work for Robinson & Webber until his retirement 47 years later. Dad was an avid bowler with the 5 Pin Bowling Association. He loved his hunting trips in the late fall with his boys and the fishing trips during the spring. Dad was a longtime resident at Gull Lake and spent every weekend and holidays there with his family and friends. Dad was a very charitable man, and was a life member of Branch No. 97 Fort Rouge Legion. Special thanks to Dr. W. Kepron, nurses and staff on 6H for their care and concern for Dad.
