ROSE SILVERMAN
Born: Oct 20, 1910
Date of Passing: Feb 01, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE SILVERMAN February 1, 2003 my family suffered a great loss. Our Bobba Rose Silverman passed away. She was born Rose Bercovici on October 20, 1910 in a small town called Soulitza in Romania. She lost her mother at the age of seven and was raised by her father and older siblings until 1929 when she left for Canada. She never saw any of them again. Our Bobbas journey to the new world took her to Montreal and then eventually into the arms of my Zaida Coleman, her life companion and best friend. They lived their lives and raised their family in small town Saskatchewan with my great-grandparents and my Uncle Max and Auntie Mollys family. They lived a simple life, but one filled with a tremendous amount of love and laughter. Our Bobba touched many lives over 92 years. She leaves many who grieve her passing. Her children, David, Karen, and Peter. Her grandchildren, Sarah, Jonathon, Karly, and a recent addition, Kevin (Solomon). She will also be terribly missed by her niece and nephews, Sherri, Bruce, Harold and Marv (and families) to whom she was much more than an aunt. Our Bobba was a truly selfless woman. She was a throwback to a simpler time. She never wanted for material things but instead, always put her family first. Her children and family meant everything to her. We were her pride and joy. Not a day of our lives has gone by that we did not feel our Bobbas love and support. I know we all have very special memories of dinners, holidays, and sometimes just Sunday afternoons. Its funny though, because what I think I will miss most is the warmth of her smile, soothing nature of her touch, and the sound of true excitement in her voice whenever I entered the room. Our Bobba was a real fighter and she gave us all 92 wonderful healthy years. She danced with me at my wedding and got to see my sister engaged. For these things, and so many more, we are all truly grateful. We mourn her passing but also celebrate a life that touched so many. We want to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff of the SBGH for all their care and support. You treated our Bobba with kindness and dignity and for that we are all so very thankful. Graveside funeral was held Monday, February 3 at 11:30 a.m., Rosh Pina Cemetery. Pallbearers: Peter Leipsic, Jonathon Leipsic, Bruce Silverman, Harold Silverman, Kevin Solomon and Allan Schachter. Donations in memory of Rose Silverman can be made to the Shirley Anne Marantz Fund at the Jewish Foundation.
