DOROTHY SIMMONS (nee WEIR) April 4, 1912 - February 12, 2003 After a long and full life Dorothy Simmons passed away peacefully at 90 years of age. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Leslie Simmons; son-in-law Roy Carruthers; and sisters, Nancy, Winnie, Helen and Ruth. Dorothy is survived by her sister Elma in California; daughters, Pat Ward (Arthur) in Toronto and Elizabeth Carruthers in Winnipeg; grandchildren, Anne (Stephen), Marna (George) and Leslie (Barry) from Toronto, Kathy (Guy), Karen (Murray), Michael (Tracy) and John (Lauren) from Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hillary, Natalie and Jacob from Toronto, Coy, Jason, Jamie-Lynn, Lindsey, Tyler, Michael Jr., Paige, Leslie, Lake and Grace from Winnipeg; and great-great-grandchildren from Winnipeg, Brandon, Demetrios and Mackenzie; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the Spruce staff, volunteers, nurses and Pastor John at Fred Douglas Lodge for all their caring and compassion during this time. Memorial service will be held at the Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Ave., on Monday February 17 at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main St.
