LESLIE JO ANN SMITH August 23, 1940 - February 1, 2003 Suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1, 2003 our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Leslie Jo Ann Smith (nee Lewis) left us. After having suffered a sudden heart attack, she lay in a deep sleep for a few days before leaving us to join her beloved parents. Jo Ann will be sadly missed by her husband Norman; sons, Edward (Leona) and Norman (Sandra) daughters, Kimberly (William) Crosby, Debra (Robert) Tycholiz and granddaughters, Cassandra and Elizabeth, Kathy (Michael) Wuorinen, Melanie Dela Cruz and granddaughters, Crystal and Meagan; and grandson James. She is also survived by her beloved sister Yvonne; brother Philip; sisters-in-law, Elaine Reimer and Margaret Arpin and their families; as well as numerous family and friends. She was especially close to her niece Sherry and husband Jerry of Fort Saskatchewan, AB and their children who referred to her as Grandma Jo. Jo Ann was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Francis Lewis whom she missed deeply; nephews, Shawn and Jeffery; and niece Heather. Jo Ann loved to travel with her husband across Canada and the USA before Norman retired from trucking. She saw a lot of different places and faces in her travels and would love to talk about them all, good or bad. She especially loved to garage sale with her niece and her friend Mary of Iowa. Jo Ann was a much loved person by her family and friends of which she had many across Canada and the United States. She loved to visit and speak with friends close to her in Iowa where she could go and be herself with them. A celebration of Jo Anns life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6 (today) at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St., with viewing one-half hour prior to the service. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Seven Oaks Hospital ICU, Sherri, Kris, Bruce, Erma and all the others for all their help. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474
