JEANNETTE (ALLARD) PARTYKA Jeannette Partyka, 82, of Winnipeg, died Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Jeannette Marie Allard was born in St. Boniface on July 15, 1920, the daughter of Albert and Denise (Lavack) Allard. She grew up on her familys farm in Mariapolis, MB. Her family later moved to Bruxelles, MB where she and her brothers and sisters helped run the familys general store. In the mid 1940s, Jeannette moved to Winnipeg, where she opened and managed her own beauty shop on the corner of Portage Avenue and Fort Street. She and Nicholas Partyka were married in 1947. In their early years together, the couple raised their children in Morse Place (Winnipeg). The family moved to East Kildonan in 1960 and relocated to Norwood (St. Boniface) in 1966. After the death of her husband in 1980, Jeannette settled in East Grand Forks, MN. She lived in Morris, MB for a couple of years and returned to Winnipeg in 1994. She remained in her home in St. Vital until her recent move into the Quest Inn assisted living residence in downtown Winnipeg. Jeannette was known for her energetic and colourful personality. She had a rare and candid way of expressing herself, which endeared her to many. She will not soon be forgotten. Besides her husband, Jeannette was preceded in death by her son Nicholas Jr.; newborn daughter Sharon; her parents; her grandson Cameron Badurek; her brothers, Paul, Ivan, Robert, Gerard, Bernard and Luke Allard; and her sister Lucy Cormier. She is survived by her children, John and his wife Sandy of Athabasca, AB, Theresa Dunlevy of Vancouver, BC, Rosaline and her husband Tom of Melborne, FL and Lillian Kim Thompson and her husband Mike of Lengby. Jeannette is also survived by her brothers, Rene Allard and his wife Terry of St. Anne, Dennis Allard of St. Boniface and John Allard of Morris; her sister Emma Melanson; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Neil Partyka, Stephie Laba, Henry and Elsie Partyka, Sophie Partyka and Walter Partyka; as well as 75 nieces and nephews, several cousins, relatives and friends. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8 in the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St., with Fr.
