HELEN RUTH ROBINSON (HOOKER)
Born: Apr 13, 1925
Date of Passing: Feb 03, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN RUTH ROBINSON (nee HOOKER) Helen Ruth Robinson (nee Hooker) was born April 13, 1925 in Selkirk, MB and died with her family by her side on February 3, 2003 in Winnipeg. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Ruth Hooker; her brothers, Frank and Richard Hooker; her husband Howard; and her beloved grandson Trevor Joel Robinson. Missing her, yet knowing that she is at peace, are: her children, Rob (Val), Inez (Brian), Garry (Bobby), and Donna (Bill) grandchildren, Pam (Jamie), Kirsten (David), Mark, Jonathan, David, Michael, Benjamin, Malachi, and Joshua; and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Joel, Kenzie, Cecilia, and Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen touched many throughout her life: her student ministry in Sprague and her long teaching career begun in Killarney and Swan River and spent mostly in Selkirk; providing a child day care; and teaching English as second language to new Canadians, volunteering at various times and places throughout her life, with C.G.I.T., the U.C.W., the Museum of Man and Nature, St. Matthews Maryland food bank, the Oak Table ministry, and others too numerous to mention. Family present and past have always meant so much to Helen and she derived great joy from gathering photos and memorabilia, the largest body of which was the artworks and life story of her stepgrandmother Marion Nelson Hooker. Mom once said, "if we have real faith and honest faith, a funeral is a happy occasion!" Please join us as we celebrate her life at Augustine United Church on Friday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Historic St. Clements Church, just south of Selkirk, with a time for fellowship and stories at Selkirk United Church at 1:30 p.m. Helen was a generous person all her life, giving to many charities and the less fortunate, with gifts and deeds. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Winnipeg Harvest or charity of your choice. Cremation and arrangements by Thomson Funeral Chapels, Winnipeg.

To the family of Helen Ruth Robinson. Donna Brooks made a donation in honour of Helen's to Oak Table Inc (Community Ministry). Given Helen's connection to Oak Table through her volunteer work, it was such a perfect remembrance. We are so grateful to be included in the long legacy of loving the under-loved that Helen built throughout her life and we are proud to carry on her memory with the support of these donations. www.oaktable.ca - Posted by: Carly Cushing (Oak Table Staff) on: May 12, 2022
