ELEANOR JEAN JOHNSTON Gone Dancing Sadly, on February 6, 2003 Eleanor Jean Johnston (nee McKenzie), passed after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She was in her 75th year of celebrating life and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arnold Freeman Johnston 32 years ago. When asked why she never dated or remarried, she would reply, "I never met anyone who could dance as well as Arnie." She was also predeceased by her brother Russell (Russ) and her sister Marion (Mamie). She is survived by her sisters, Isobel and Irene; her brother Bill; her son John; her granddaughters, Andrea, Diane, and Anne; and her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, and Riley. Coming from a large family, she was blessed with many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. Her love and her friendship knew no bounds. She gave it freely to all who would accept it. Her career spanned time at the Decibel and Airline Credit Unions before her retirement ten years ago from Fred Douglas Lodge. Her lust for life and her love of family were her gifts to all the lives she touched. Echoes of her laughter will forever ring on in all the people she knew. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Gifts to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
