Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOHN (BOB) ANDERSON On Monday, February 3, 2003, after a lengthy illness, at the St. Boniface Hospital, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and special friend. Robert was born on December 4, 1929, at the St. Boniface Hospital and raised in Ashern, Minnedosa and Chatfield where his grandfather owned and operated creameries. He worked for Winnipeg Supply & Fuel and Bowyer Boag tinsmiths before joining the army in 1948 and was stationed at Camp Shilo in the Airborne Artillery. After his discharge he went to Central Patricia gold mines in northern Ontario. Robert later joined the RCAF in 1952. He served at stations MacDonald, MB, for two years, then transferred overseas to Langer Notts England, as crew member serving logistics support for the Canadian stations in Germany, France, Italy, North Africa and Rab in Morroco. He then transferred back to Edmonton, AB, serving in the 105 search and rescue flight squadron. After being discharged in 1960 he had various jobs until joining Beaver Soaps in 1963. The company subsequently merged into Cangard Industries, then into Salvolite, all the while serving as chief engineer and plant manager until he retired in 1992. Robert was predeceased by his sisters, Beatrice Fogg from Prince Albert, AB, in 1984 and Joyce Gladu from Winnipeg, MB, in 1995. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brothers, Edward and Harry Anderson; special friend Jean Swetz; brother-in-law Ronald Fogg; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9 at Wereschuk Funeral Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Wereschuk Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
