SHEILA ALFREDIA GALL (nee VANCE) Sheila Alfredia Gall passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at the age of 71 years. Sheila is survived by daughters, Margaret (Henry) Ottevanger of Brampton, ON and Patricia (Trish) Gall of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Sara (Jeff) Turner and Hendrik (Stephanie) Ottevanger; sisters, Kathy Riley of Penticton, BC and Alana (Stan) Gilbert of Thunder Bay, ON; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Alfredia (Toots) Vance. Sheila was born in Port Arthur on March 15, 1931, where she attended Prospect and Hillcrest Schools. She served in the Canadian Army Reserves from 1960 to 1968 in the Medical Corp. In her 40s she attended the College of Nurses of Ontario, where she obtained her Registered Nursing Assistants Training. She worked at St. Josephs Hospital in Thunder Bay for a number of years. After attending Confederation College in Thunder Bay, she moved to Winnipeg where she resided and worked for many years. A celebration of her life was held at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg on Wednesday, January 29 followed by cremation. Reception followed at the home of her daughter Trish. Attending from out of town were Kathy Riley of Penticton, BC and Marge and Henry Ottevanger of Brampton, ON.
