JOSIP JAKOVAC Josip Jakovac, aged 73 years, passed away suddenly, surrounded by his family at the Seven Oaks Hospital on Thursday, February 6, 2003. He leaves behind his wife Frances Jakovac; daughter Olga Vukelic and husband John; son Henrik and wife Nancy; granddaughter Vanessa and grandson Dillon. He is also survived by sister Biserka (Vlado) Jursevic; three nieces, Vesna, Slavica and Jasna; nephew Nenad all of Croatia. Josip was predeceased by his parents, Matia and Agneza; brother Branko and his wife Vera. He was born in Croatia in the small town of Skrad and came to Canada in 1970. Josip was employed by Dominion Lumber as a carpenter, taking retirement in 1991. The family wishes to thank his doctors, and also the nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd floor, Unit 5 for all their wonderful help and support. Also a special thank you to Maria Poje for all her help and support, and to friends and family for their support at this difficult time. Prayers will be held on Sunday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 McDonald. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
