REIDAR G. LUND Ray passed away peacefully on February 6, 2003 at Red River Place, Selkirk, MB, at the age of 97. Survived by daughter Barbara Crouch of Winnipeg; sons, Earl (Rose Marie) of Petersfield, Murray (Cathy) of Calgary, AB, Bruce (Myrna) of Stonewall; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Edith Sundberg of BC, numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his wife Mabel, his sister Margith Rasmussen; brothers, Wilhelm, Arthur, and Valle. Ray worked most of his life as a commercial fisherman, first in Manitoba, then in the 1940s moved to Queen Charlotte Islands, BC. He returned to Dauphin River, MB in 1973 to retire where he trapped and fished commercially for over another twenty years. He spent summers at Big Rock Camp on Lake St. Martin where he enjoyed meeting campers and fishermen and made many friends. He was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humour. He loved the outdoors, birds and animals, especially his dogs. At Rays request cremation has taken place. A family service will be held at a later date.
