JOSEPH LAWRENCE PALMER Peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, Manitoba, Joe Palmer aged 86 years formerly of Molson, MB. He is survived by sisters, Helen Wood of Brandon and Marion Wishart of Winnipeg and many relatives and friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joseph Palmer; brothers, Jack, and George; and a sister Anne Froin. He was born on November 23, 1916 and lived in Molson all of his life. While at home he cared for his parents until their passing. Joe served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1939 to 1945. He was an active member of Beausejour Legion Branch No. 132 and served as president for a term. Throughout his working years Joe always worked, for a time with the Manitoba Hydro, a security guard at Milner Ridge and also operated a saw sharpening shop in Beausejour. He loved the outdoors and especially his dogs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB with Legion Chaplain Frank Baker officiating. Interment will be in the Beausejour Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Beausejour Legion following the committal services. If friend so desire memorial donations in Joes memory may be made to the Togs and Treasures, Beausejour.
