WILLIAM EVAN CORBETT BURNET Peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre, his daughters by his side, Wlliam Evan Corbett Burnet died in the early evening hours of February 7, 2003. Born August 17, 1914 in Pilot Mound, MB, Bill was for many years the manager of Credit Foncier Franco-Canadien (Manitoba) Ltd., a warden at St. Georges Anglican Church (Crescentwood) and an enthusiastic member of the Winnipeg Winter Club. In his youth, Bill captained the Kimberly Dynamiters Hockey Team when they won the Worlds Cup in 1937 and piloted over twenty Lancaster bombing missions during the Second World War. Blessed with a great sense of humour and the gift of storytelling, "GOP" is dearly missed by daughters, Drucy Lynn Burnet Hodge (Philip) and Heather Ann Sabbagh (Peter) and grandchildren, Simon and Patrick Hodge and Geordie, Jesse and Sariana Sabbagh. Bill was predeceased by his dear wife, Marie, in 1997 and by his beloved son, Alec McNab in 1977. Cremation has taken place. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at the chapel at Deer Lodge Centre on Tuesday, February 11, at 1:00 p.m. The officiant will be the Rev. Canon Dr. Arthur N. Thompson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bills memory to the Deer Lodge Centre, where he has been lovingly cared for over the past several years. P. COUTU & CO.
