ANNIE KOKURUZA (LAWSON) (nee TOYAK) Peacefully on February 7, 2003 at Bethania Personal Care Home, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 88. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Roberta (Ernie) Cric, grandchildren, Wayne and Linda, David and Susan Harris, daughter Jean Lawson, sons, Robert (Janice), Jack, grandchildren, Danny, Michelle and Niki. Annie was predeceased by her husband Robert Lawson (1968), daughter Dorothy Harris (1970) and her second husband Pete Kokuruza (Daddy Pete) in 1982. Annie was born in Poland and came to Manitoba in 1926. She met and married Robert Lawson on July 9, 1932. After marriage the couple resided in Melita, MB, then moved to Winnipeg where they made their home and raised their family of five children. After Roberts passing Annie met and married Peter and lived a happy life until his passing. Annie resided at home with her loving daughter Jean since 1978, who cared for Mom until she entered Bethania Personal Care Home. Annie will always be remembered for her love of her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren her love of cooking, baking and her sense of humour. Her family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the wonderful staff at Bethania Personal Care Home and her faithful companion Buster. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Fr. John Sholdak officiating. Service will terminate at the chapel with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. There are rivers for you to cross, But when you walk through the waters, God will be with you. There are mountains for you to climb, But when you cannot take another step... He will carry you.
