OVIDE ROBERT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ovide Robert, husband, father and grandfather. After battling cancer for several months, Ovide passed away peacefully at Ste. Annes Hospital on February 8, 2003, with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife of 54 years Denise; dear son Jean-Paul; loving daughter-in-law Ann; and his two very special granddaughters, Madeleine and Catherine. Also mourning his passing are foster son Denis Richard; Ovides very caring granddaughter Nanette (Kevin) Goldsworthy; grandson Greg Richard; and his three thoughtful and loving nieces, Margo (Ron) Wilgosh, Irene (Francis) Lemoine and Loraine Delorme (Al Novits), who kept the family well nourished throughout his illness. Ovide is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Therese, Gabe (Karen), Simone (Adelard) Ouimet, Jeanne (Paul) St. Onge, Rita (Joe), Frank (Doris), Aurore (Robert) Kirouac, Bertha (Herman) Wiebe; and sister-in-law Eileen. Ovide was predeceased by his parents, Stanislaus and Gabrielle Robert; and his brother Edward. Beginning at an early age, Ovide spent much of his life farming in Aubigny, MB. Upon his retirement in 1990, Ovide and Denise spent summers camping with close friends and family. Special memories were made at many early September camping trips at West Hawk Lake. Ovide was known for his wonderful sense of humour which continued to sustain us throughout his illness. Denise and family wish to thank all who prayed for Ovide, especially Fr. C. Fillion, all the friends and family who phoned, e-mailed, sent cards and visited so many times. Also thanks to Dr. P. D. DeMoissac, Dr. A. Bissonnette and all the caring staff at Ste. Annes Hospital. A special thanks to Margo for her constant help and support over the past weeks. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. The service will be held on Thursday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Saint-Antoine Roman Catholic Church, Aubigny, MB.
