She grew up in the West End and attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and Success Business College. She also received musical training on the piano and violin. Pauline met her future husband, Jimmy, while working at the CN Telegraphs. In 1936, they were married and moved to Saskatchewan, residing mainly in Saskatoon, before returning to Winnipeg in 1943. In 1953, she returned to the workforce joining the Accounts Branch of the Provincial Department of Public Works, where she made many friends. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Golden West, particularly those on the 5th floor, for the loving and tender care you gave our mother over the years.
