JAMES (JIM) LOVE 1933 - 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Peacefully, on Sunday, February 9, 2003, after a brief battle with cancer, Jim died at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 69 years. Jim is survived by his wife Shirley of 50 years of marriage; son Roy and his daughter Katie; daughter Sharon and her husband Ed Rowntree and their children, Carol and Stephen; sisters, Mary, Kathleen and Helen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Jessy and brother John. He was born in Ste. Rose, MB, later moving to Winnipeg. Jim worked hard all his life giving everything he did his all. For the last 24 years he worked at McCaine Electric retiring in January 2003. We would like to thank them for all their kindness and support over the last seven months. Jim volunteered at the Orioles Community Club, running the teen dances, hockey, soccer, baseball and also caretaking. He then went on to be the manager of the St. James Jr. Canadian Hockey team for seven years. Jim also did volunteering for the African Violet Society. He attended the Folk Festival for 14 years and began volunteering for them, as well as the Childrens Festival and others in the city. He had a great love of music especially the banjo. A celebration of Jims life will be held on Sunday, February 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Orioles Community Club, 444 Burnell St., Winnipeg, MB. A very special thanks to the CancerCare and the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital.
