THOMAS HAROLD RUSSELL September 30, 1918 - February 8, 2003 On Saturday, February 8, 2003 at the Carman Memorial Hospital in Carman, MB, Thomas Harold Russell, aged 84 years, passed away with his loving wife, Lillian and many family members at his side. Left to cherish Harolds life and memory is his loving wife of 63 years, Lillian Russell (nee Gould) his sons, Ray (Marlene) of Regina, Glen (Marleen) of Calgary, Blair (Deb) of Carman, Don (Doreen) of Winnipeg and Craig (Janet) of Brandon; his daughters, Kay Ferris, Pat (Frank) Makins, and Bev Kippen of Carman, Marjorie (Roger) Rigelhof of Montreal and Marilyn Russell of Calgary; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Alice Russell and Gertrude Svoboda; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Mary Russell; brothers, Frank, Wilbert and Clair; sisters, Jennie, Ella-Mae, Gertie, Evelyn, Ethel and Helen; and sons-in-law, James Ferris and Barry Kippen. Harold was born at Carman and farmed in the Barnsley district from his early teenage years until the late 1960s when he sold the farm and started a tree moving business with Lawrence Aubin, a business which continues under the ownership of his sons, Blair and Don. Harold was a life member of the Carman Kinsmen and K-40s clubs. He loved curling, fishing, golfing and playing pool. He and Lillian enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world. Special thanks to the doctors and the nursing staff for their kindness and caring. Funeral services will be held from the Carman United Church in Carman on Wednesday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Carman Memorial Hospital, Box 610, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. Doyles of Carman in care of arrangements.
