Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD GEORGE WILLOX Peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2003, with his family at his side, Edward George Willox of Winnipeg, beloved husband of Joyce Louise Willox (nee Atkinson), passed away at the age of 75 years. Eddy was born at Medora, MB, on February 23, 1927. Upon moving to Winnipeg at the age of 16, he met his beloved wife Joyce. Surviving Eddy are his children, Karen and husband Wayne Franklin, Dianne and husband Denis Gervais, Maureen and husband John Devlin; his grandchildren, Shawna and Jerry, Kirk and Regan, Michael and Allison, Kevin, Sharaden and Trevor, Sean and Jaime, Danielle and Brad, Jaimee, Jordan, Sean, Bryan, Tara and David; his great-grandchildren; Jeremy, Jeff, and Gavyn; sister Edith (Dolly) and many nieces and nephews. Eddy had been a longtime member of the Manitoba Hotel and Hospitality industry and along with his son-in-law Denis, he built a prominent business and garnered many friends. Eddy dedicated much of his time to his family and friends. He loved to attend his grandchildrens sporting events and could be seen over the last three decades at the hockey rink, soccer field or baseball diamond. He is lovingly remembered as the Candy Man for the thousands of chocolate bars he presented to his grandchildren and teammates after their games. Eddy loved to vacation in Florida with Joyce where they spent many fun filled weeks with their family. Eddy was also an active member of the Shriners Khartum Temple Drum and Bugle Corp, and loved the friendship he developed with his many associates. Eddy was dedicated to the many wonderful activities of the Shriners and the causes they supported. Joyce and Family would like to thank the staff and doctors at CancerCare Manitoba. A special thank you to Dr. Chemalshou and Dr. Lalyk, Cathy Trakalo and Jane Olsen. We would also like to thank the staff and doctors at the Grace Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 13, at 3:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. Rev. Gordon Dixon Principle Celebrant. "Gone from our presence, but eternally etched in our hearts. Loved and befriended by so many. The corner stone of our family foundation. The inspiration to our continuing generations. Now rest in peace, until we are all together once again." In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Shriners Burn Fund, 529 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A5.
