EDNA BOBERG Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Edna Boberg, aged 60 years, of Selkirk, beloved wife of the late Benny Boberg. Mom was born and raised in Dundee, Scotland. She immigrated to Canada in her teens. She soon returned to care for her father, Edward Finnerty. Mom returned to Canada where she worked at various jobs to be close to her family. Selkirk is where she made her home and met the love of her life, Benny Boberg. They had many happy years together travelling and raising their family. Mom was the most caring and courageous women we have ever known. She was always helping people through difficult times, leaving her own needs behind. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Edward Finnerty; husband Benny Boberg; and brother Jacky Tubbs. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son Gavin; daughter Kirsten (Brad) Burnell; the light of her life, granddaughter, Andria (Moosh) sisters, Christine Griffiths and Margaret Marshall; brother Edward (Norma) Finnerty; her lifelong friends, Christine (Andy) Crumly, Irene (Art) Salmon and Jan Finnalayson. She also leaves her niece Heather (Jim) nephews, Kevin (Deena), Charlie (Bev), Stephan and Jackie. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in one week on Saturday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Knox Presbyterian Church, Selkirk, MB, with Rev. Ken Innis officiating. In accordance to Moms wishes, flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Selkirk Palliative Care Unit, CancerCare Manitoba, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements
