LAURA NELL (nee DAVIES) (FORBES) VYSE It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Laura on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 with her daughter at her side at Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie. Laura was born November 29, 1914 to Annie and Bob Davies near Elva, MB. In 1948 Laura married Duncan Forbes; they happily resided in St. James. Duncan passed away in 1954. Laura later remarried Bert Vyse who also predeceased her along with her parents and one brother Robert (Nellie). Laura will be greatly missed by her daughter Betty Harris, son-in-law Bob; and her two granddaughters, Laurie (Kelly) MacAulay and Nikki; also two little great-granddaughters, Katrina and Alyssa. She was a warm and gentle woman who dearly loved her family, gardening, flowers and her dogs. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Leatherdale Gardiner, St. James Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave., with Rev. Judy Limpwright officiating. My special thanks for the wonderful care at Lions Manor, in particular "Parkside" Portage La Prairie for their kindness and caring over the last eight and one-half years. The following sums up my Mom the last years of her life: "When your body doesnt work the way it used to, the heart and soul are not diminished".
