PEARL SLOTA Peacefully on February 12, 2003 at Kin Place Personal Care Home our mother, Pearl Slota, went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Pearl will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three children, Kathy, Don (Carol), and Adeline (Roland) five grandchildren, Randy (Michelle), Lori, Brad (Jasamine), Rhonda, and Amanda; three great-grandchildren, Jessy, Austin, and Victoria; and sisters-in-law, Lena Malegus and Bernice Slota. She was predeceased by her husband Sam; her parents, Jacob and Pauline; brothers, Walter and Mike; sisters, Anne and Lena; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mom was born November 6, 1919 in Birds Hill. It is in Oakbank that Moms life flourished. July 15, 1944, Mom married Dad. Together they farmed and raised their three children. Moms joy in life was her family. Moms grandchildren and great-grandchildren lit up her life. In her later years she enjoyed her companionship with her cat, Spunky. Spunky always put a smile upon her face. Over the past year, Mom spent her time at Kin Place Personal Care Home. It is here where Mom began her true love of bingo and looked forward to visiting with friends and family. We would like to thank all the staff of Kin Place Personal Care Home for the kind support and excellent care of our mother. Prayers to be held Sunday, February 16 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. in Cooks Creek Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church with Rev. Father Taras Kowch officiating. Interment to follow at Birds Hill Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Malegus, James Slota, Allen Slota, Peter Petrocovich, John Sturzak, and Jack Shkolny. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kin Place Personal Care Home or Cooks Creek Immaculate Conception Church. When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal. ~Author Unknown CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
