Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRADLEY GORDON SOUTHAM June 7, 1969 - February 12, 2003 It is with profound sorrow that we announce that our son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend unexpectedly passed into the arms of the Lord on February 12, 2003. Left to mourn his passing are Maureen and Lloyd, his parents; his four brothers, Greg (wife Nicole), Mike (wife Cynthia), Jeff (wife Kerrie and children, Taylor and Douglas) and Chris; and his two sisters, Heather and Julie. Also left to mourn his passage are a large group of extended family and friends. Born on Fathers Day in 1969, Brad was the first born to Lloyd and Maureen. He celebrated the first day of his adventurous life by being in a picture showing him in the arms of his father on the front page of the Winnipeg Free Press. Brad spent the early years of his life enjoying the company of his family and friends as he participated in his favourite pastimes, including summers at the cottage. Brad was a graduate of St. Charles Academy, St. Pauls High School and the University of Western Ontario. He cherished all the experiences over those years with his family and friends. After obtaining his economics degree, Brad put his formidable charm, presence and ability to sell to work. This took him through experiences at ReMax, Maximum Realty and the Bank of Montreal. Brad loved, and was loved, by all of those he touched throughout his life. Some of his most memorable life experiences include cooking gourmet meals for family and friends, working out at the gym, travelling to Italy to buy clothing for a new store that he started with a friend at the age of 19, training for his pilots license, working and living in Ireland and his most recent trip earlier this year to Cuba with his best friend, his mother. Throughout all of his life experiences, Brad proved to be a man for others. A testament to this is that he gave whatever he had (whether it was the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket), not only to those who were close to him, but to all those he encountered in life. Brad also gave his time and talents to many community charitable endeavours. He was extremely loyal and protective of all of those around him. This gentle giant was larger than life. He lived life to its fullest and was never held back by the rules. He had a zest for life, followed his dreams and was never afraid to follow the path on which his dreams would take him. One of the most important relationships that Brad has is with his Creator. He is very strong in his faith. Our Brad, who carried many of us over his 33 years, is now being carried by the One who looks after us all. Prayers will be held on Sunday, February 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Fr. Earl Smith, s.j. presiding. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, February 17 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Church, 320 St. Charles St. (south off Portage Avenue at the last light before the Perimeter Highway) and will be celebrated by Fr. Joseph Mroz, s.j. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Following the interment, there will be a gathering of all of those who loved Brad at St. Charles Church parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Brad Southam to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, 4-1000 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0N3. Bye, Bye BOBO. A.M.D.G.
