Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN EDITH VINCENT Peacefully at Golden West Centennial Lodge, Jean Vincent died on Thursday, February 13, 2003, predeceased by her husband, Arthur William Vincent, on July 20, 1999. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Jane, Linda (Cam), Chris (Del) and Donald (Cathie) grandchildren, Alix (Jason), Duncan, Scott, Gillian and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jack and Reid. She is survived by her sister Mary Braddell (Eber) and was predeceased by her sisters, Hazel and Islay. Jean was born September 26, 1913, at Broomhill, MB to the Hon. D.L. and Edith McLeod. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1922 where Jean completed her education with a B.A. from United College in 1935. Qualified as a teacher, she began her career in Tilston, 1935 to 1938, and then in Douglas, 1938 to 1939. On September 2, 1939, she married Art who was the Secretary-Treasurer of the R.M. of Albert. Arts career took them to Woodlands, Boissevain and finally to Winnipeg in 1952. Jean resumed her teaching career in 1960 and taught for a number of years, mainly at Silver Heights Collegiate, retiring in 1973. Her subjects were French and Math. Jean and Art were fortunate to share a long and healthy retirement, especially enjoying their activities through the Khartum Shrine, their cottage at West Hawk Lake and their grandchildren. Sadly, Art died just short of their 60th wedding anniversary. The family is very grateful to the staff at Golden West for their excellent care, compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2Y 0S8.
