PETER STASIUK Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Holy Family Nursing Home, Peter Stasiuk, aged 78 years. Peter was born and raised in Winnipeg. After completing high school, he moved to Northern Manitoba to work in the mines. He later went to Lac La Ronge in Northern Saskatchewan where he opened a restaurant which he owned and operated for 12 years. After being diagnosed with MS, he was forced to sell the restaurant and return to Winnipeg. Peter is survived by his four children, Pauline (Archie), Russell (Kathy), Martin and Wesley; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and brother William (Lil). He was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro and Pauline; and brother John. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 19 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St., with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Peters memory may be made to Holy Family Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or a charity of ones choice. Peter was a very quiet person who never complained. We join Peter in thanking the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home, especially Diane, Dmytro, Sr. Monica and Sr. Theresa and good friend Ralph McComber for their care, comfort and friendship.
