Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARENCE GERMAIN FRANKLIN Surrounded by the love of his family Clarence passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on Friday, February 14, 2003. With dignity, the gentleman he had always been, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather has gone to rest. Born July 29, 1913 youngest member of Dora and Clarence Franklins family, he fell into his fathers footsteps farming and taking an interest in the well being of human kind. He served on the local school board for 11 years and then was a member of the first board of the larger area school division of White Horse Plains No. 20 for ten years. He was also president of the local M.F.U. and a member of the board of Headingley Pool Elevator Association and was always interested in the politics of the world. Predeceased by his parents, brother Erwin, sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice (Joe) Todd, Nellie (Bert) Shirtliffe and son-in-law Edwin Jones. He leaves to mourn his wife of 64 years, Irene (Robinson), daughters, Gail and Judy (Rod) Smyth, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Kotesha for his warm, compassionate care and guidance, the nurses and staff of the Grace Hospital Emergency, Observation, 3rd floor and the 4th floor Palliative Care for making his journey as easy as possible. Also thanks to Sheila for her weekly shopping trips with Dad and to all of you who have extended your hand and prayers at this difficult time. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Church in Headingley, MB. Interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or the new Palliative Care Unit under construction at the Grace Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
