REGINALD JAMES HOLMES Peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2003 Reginald James Holmes passed away at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 96 years. He was born October 10, 1906 in Amherst, Nova Scotia to parents, James and Winnifred Holmes. Reg grew up and attended school in the Middlechurch area. He married Daisy Mallows in 1931, who predeceased him in 2001. Besides his parents, and wife Daisy, Reg was predeceased by a brother Robert in 1944; and a grandson Michael in 1982. He leaves to mourn his son Harry (Gladys) of British Columbia; and their children, Robert (Aida) of British Columbia; Doug (Sandra) and Glen (Kim) all of Winnipeg. Also great-grandchildren, Lauren and Morgan of British Columbia; and a sister Jean Wilson of Illinois. Reg worked for Swift Canadian Co. for 42 years retiring as shipping foreman in 1970. He enjoyed many years of retirement, travelling to Texas for the winters. He was also an enthusiastic fisherman and bowler. Reg was a dedicated member of Kildonan 131 Masonic Lodge. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. The Rev. Ray McMurray officiating. Interment will follow in Middlechurch Cemetery.
