Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE ARTHUR OWCZAR We are saddened to announce that Larry passed away on Friday, February 14, 2003, at St. Boniface General Hospital after bravely fighting a short and intense battle with cancer. He succumbed with grace and dignity, with his family by his side. Larry is survived by Joanne, his high school sweetheart and wife of 26 years, his daughter Cassandra, son Kristian, mother Florence, sisters, Karen (George), Kathy (Howie) and Kim (Kevin) brothers, Kevin (Natalie) and Chris (Lisa), numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, and many friends. He was predeceased by his sister Odette in 1976, and his father Harry in 2000. Larry was born October 28, 1955 in Winnipeg. He grew up in St. Vital and graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate. He had a varied career, beginning with CP Rail, served his country with I SVC BN, CFB Calgary, relocated to Winnipeg, and assumed a position with Transport Canada, which led to his 20 year career with the Northern Arctic Airports. Larry loved life and he loved to party! Larrys real gift to all of us was his witty, dry sense of humour which was infectious. How could you just not laugh all the time with Larry around? He had an incredible sense of living life that everyone he touched experienced. He was a wonderful husband, father, and a friend with a generous, giving nature, and with a truly amazing wit and openness. His favourite time of year was Christmas, particularly when given the honour of playing Santa for the children. While on holiday, his favourite expressions were "everytin be cool mon" and "Beer me!!" He was very proud to have served his country at home and abroad with the U.N. He will be greatly missed. We would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Ashvin Shah, and all the staff of Emergency, 6A South and Palliative Care at St. Boniface General Hospital. A special thanks to Clare, Kim, Beth and Charlotte. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Church, 19 St. Marks Pl., St. Vital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
