FRANK HEPPNER Frank passed away peacefully at St. Anne Hospital on February 15, 2003. He was born March 30, 1910 in Germany, in an area that after the First World War became Poland again. Frank fled from Poland in 1945 and immigrated to Canada in May, 1952 after spending two years in Germany and five years in Belgium. In Canada, Frank worked for 23 years at the St. Boniface Hospital, 16 of which were as Chief Orderly. He was a very devoted husband and father. He was married for 57 years to Waleria who passed away in 1996. The last seven years of her life were spent at the Tache Nursing Centre, where Frank would be by her side for every lunch and dinner. Throughout his life Frank had many diverse interests. Nature was very important to him, spending as much time as he could at the farm, or out in the country, or even at the park. He enjoyed bowling and all sports. Frank took a passionate interest in political issues. He spent many years in the Sokol Choir, twice accompanying it on tour to Poland, a few of many trips he took to Poland to visit his family and friends. As a founding member of St. Andrew Bobola Church he served in different church committees and was dedicated and considerate of others. He was a volunteer for the International Centre of Winnipeg as a translator. But his first passion above all else was spending time with his family where he showed his unconditional love for his children and grandchildren. Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory his only son Anthony and his daughter Maria (Jean Balcaen), granddaughters, Monique (Marc Delannoy) and Mireille (Eric Castonguay) and great-grandchildren, Luc, Gabriel, Clement, Julien, Trevor and Julie. He will be fondly remembered by his niece Monika Delannoy and numerous nieces, nephews and friends in Poland and Berlin. The family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Bissonette, nurse assistants Louise and Josee and student nurse Maria B. and all the staff of the Ste. Anne Hospital for their care and compassion towards our father and grandfather. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The Mass of Christian Burial honouring Franks life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19 at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 541 Marion St. with Fr. Kazimierz Zabawa, CSSR officiating. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
