MALCOLM WILLIAM NOVAK Peacefully, on February 15, 2003 at the Concordia Hospital, Malcolm Novak, our dearly beloved father and grandfather, passed away at age 83 years. Malcolm was predeceased by wife, Pearl on December 6, 1997. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his sons, Bill and Gerry (Carol) grandchildren, Danny (Amanda), Steven and Jackie; two great-grandchildren; sister Jean (Jennie) Novak and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg on February 19, 1919, Malcolm received his education in Transcona. During the Second World War, he had served in the Navy Reserve. After the war, he returned to Transcona to the CNR Shops, where he worked as a Carman in the Woodmill and Car Shop, until his retirement in 1984. He was also a proud member of the Transcona Legion Branch No. 7 for 56 years. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Father Michael Krochak officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Novak, Steven Novak, John Gilbert, Les Pelland and Rick Butson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Society. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
