JAMIE DARRYL CUGNET June 3, 1959 - February 16, 2003 After a long and courageous battle with lymphoma, and surrounded by the love of family and friends, Jamie passed peacefully from this garden to the next. Left to mourn his untimely passing is his life partner Louise Coutu; stepsons, Daniel and Jesse Fisher; his mother Shirley de Balinhard; stepdad John de Balinhard; his father Darryl Cugnet; and stepmom Patsy Cugnet; sister Sherry Campbell; uncle Ron Endicott and wife Diana; niece Carly; nephews, Brett and Mitch; aunt Orlanda Endicott and partner Widge; stepgrandmother Margaret Cugnet; mother-in-law Reta Coutu; sister-in-law Colleen Coutu; brother-in-law Dave Coutu and wife Edie and their children, Claire and Aimee; and best buddie "Charlie." Predeceased by stepson Benji Fisher; grandparents, Lillian and Horace Endicott, Edith Bridgeman and Lucien Cugnet. Jamie was born in Regina, SK, and moved to Yorkton at age three - there he attended grade school and junior high, always receiving top marks. In Winnipeg, Jamie attended Kelvin High and continued his formal education at the University of Manitoba, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honours. Jamies passion for learning was lifelong, and he excelled at everything he did. Blessed with a magnificent mind, his knowledge of history and world events was incredible. He loved flowers, and his garden was a place of joy and beauty. He enjoyed sports, especially Jets hockey. In spite of his illness, he took up long distance running, a testament to his courage, his determination, his independence, his spirit. He was a loving husband, a devoted son and grandson - he was all these things but mostly he was our best friend. Jamie had a special relationship with his sister - they supported each other throughout their lives and shared many of the same interests and views. Jamie - We love you forever and a day. A celebration of Jamies life will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m., at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Reception to follow. Donations may be made in Jamies name to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
