Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORBERT LOUIS (BERT) LAVOIE 1938 - 2002 After a brief and courageous struggle with cancer, Bert returned to his Creator on November 29, 2002 in Calgary, Alberta. Bert was born and raised in Laurier, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Berthe (Duruisseau) Lavoie; his wife Marie and nephew Tim Lavoie. He joined the Queens Own Rifles at the age of 17. He trained in Calgary and was stationed in Germany. His 40 year career with the R V Industry took him from Manitoba, to British Columbia to Alberta. Bert will be remembered for his good deeds, wonderful sense of humour, and love for his family. For many years he was Santa at a charity dinner for the homeless in Vancouver and he served on the Board of the Metis Nation of Alberta, Association Region III. He enjoyed many sports, especially racquetball and baseball. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Margot and her sons, Robert and Mike; by his daughter Marlene Barthiette and her children Gregory and Harley; his siblings, Margot (Greg) Dunwoody, Marie-Alice (Bill) Grassick, Lionel (Leona) Lavoie, and Fran (Syl) Kowaichuk; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at 685 William Ave. Please join us in this celebration of Berts life. And God will raise him up on eagles wings and hold him in the palm of His hand. Psalm 91
