CHARLES SAMUEL MAXWELL May 14, 1955 - February 16, 2003 Peacefully on Sunday February 16, 2003, Charles passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 47 years. He is survived by his brother Ian (Susan) of Winnipeg; sisters, Elma Duthie of Turriff, Scotland and Patricia Gray of Inverness, Scotland, Frances (Peter) Hamilton of Formby, England and Irene (Gordon) Burt of Newport Pagnell, England. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Robert, Andrew, Cathy and Ian in Winnipeg and Colin, Katrina, Jane, Katherine, David, Judith, Graham, Simon, Leslie, Rona and Katrin, in the U.K. Charles was predeceased by his beloved nephew Peter Gray and parents Samuel and Catherine Maxwell. He grew up in Glasgow, Scotland where he obtained his early education. He excelled in athletics and represented his school on many occasions, winning the Glasgow Championship Gold Medal 100 and 200 metres, and was the 1971 Scottish Champion, 200 metres. When he came to Canada in 1972 he continued his education at Kelvin High School and the University of Manitoba, and obtained the degree BA (Psych), which lead to a career in the Mental Health field. He was loved and respected by many clients The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Nason, Dr. M. Harlos, and the dedicated staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit. Charles was particularly fond of Krysta, Brian, Rachael, Sheri, Tracy and Therese. The family will never forget the years of kindness and support from Tom MacNeil and Bob Smith.
