Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE SLOTA January 4, 1911 - February 16, 2003 Peacefully, on Sunday, February 16, 2003, Steve Slota, aged 92 years, passed away at St. Marys Hospital, Kitchener, Ontario. He is survived by his brothers, Thedore (Toledo, OH), Bill (Hamilton, ON), Walter (Mary) (Toronto, ON), Paul (Winnipeg), Harry (Anne) (Toronto, ON) and Mervin (Mary) (Winnipeg) and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Pearl; brothers Mike and Rev. Fr. G. J. Slota, OSBM; and sister Pauline Petruniak. Steve was born in Oakbank, MB. He moved to Toronto and was a self-employed carpenter and then moved to Canfield, ON and tried farming. From there he moved to Miami Beach, Florida and started working as a carpenter, enjoying all the warm winters there. Steve returned to Kitchener, ON in 1995 and lived with his niece Monica Slota. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Saturday, February 22 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow in Pineridge Cemetery, Birds Hill, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steves memory to the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB.
