FRANCES WALKER (nee SAHAIDAK) It is with great sadness that we wish to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Frances Walker of Stony Mountain, MB. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bert Walker; daughters, Carolyn Crawford and Beverly (Barry) Davis; son Richard (Joan) grandchildren, Clifton, Ashley, Jennifer, Gregory, Terri and Richard (Tiffany) sisters, Mary and Stella; sisters-in-law Olga, Ida, Luella and Isabel as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Mike and brothers-in-law Mike, Elbern, Tony and Jack. Frances was born on October 26, 1919 in Fraserwood, MB. She moved to Winnipeg where she began working in a sewing factory. She met and married Bert in 1949 and moved to Stony Mountain. She left her sewing job to become a full time wife, homemaker and mother. She used her sewing skills at home to make clothing for her family and friends. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as bowling and playing bingo. She spent many hours volunteering her services at the Stony Mountain Anglican Church. She was a kind and gentle woman who loved gardening and was so proud of her flowering shrubs and fruit trees. She was a proud and dedicated wife who enjoyed going for rides in the countryside. A special thanks goes to the staff at the Stonewall Hospital for their special care and kindness. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
