ALMA WHEELER (nee SKOGLUND) Peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at the Beausejour Hospital, Beausejour, MB, Alma Wheeler aged 82 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Pat McKinley (Jim) and their children, Jason and Kristin Haight; daughter Beth Erickson (Jim) and their children, Janet Willim (Shawn) and her great-grandchildren, Shane and Meaghen Willim; her brother Ken Skoglund and a sister-in-law Vi Skoglund as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alma was predeceased by her husband C.N. (Bert) parents, Knut and Violet Skoglund; daughter Marjorie McManus; son-in-law Don McManus; brother Ron Skoglund; sisters, Dorothy Casson and Alice Gibson. Alma was born on December 3, 1920 in Erickson, MB and was raised on the family farm in Morris, MB. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1945 as an RN working in Toronto and in Winnipeg at the Victoria General Hospital and at the Tuxedo Villa until her retirement in 1985. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB with Pastor Roland Rendell officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will be held in the spring.
