ARTHUR (Art) GAVINE April 10, 1910 - February 18, 2003 After a brief illness, with equal amounts of strength, humour and dignity, Uncle Art left us peacefully with his faithful friends by his side. Art was born in Winnipeg, and raised in the Hilbre area of Manitoba by his adoptive parents. He moved to the east about 40 years ago and resided there until now. Art was a "storyteller" and everyone enjoyed his ability to share memories of the "good old days" with humour and detail. We shall surely miss our phone conversations. Uncle Art was predeceased by his beloved wife Ann, brother, Russ, sister, Mary, and parents. He is survived by his nieces, Margaret, Helen, Barbara, Audrey and Hazel, nephew Bob, and their spouses. The family wishes to express a most sincere thank you to Marguerite Brooker and her family for everything they did for Art. You were like family to him. Thanks to all the Jehovah Witness friends who enriched his life and helped him over the past years. Your kindness toward Art is much appreciated by the family. Funeral service February 22, in Chatham, ON. Friends may honour his memory by performing a random act of kindness.
