JACK WESLEY HOFFMAN March 19, 1911 - February 18, 2003 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 a few weeks before his 92nd birthday, Jack Hoffman passed away in Concordia Hospital. He was predeceased by his son James and grandson Bradley Gibson. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 62 years Ellen; his children, Sharon (Martin) Kaczkowski, Carol (John) Sala, Darryl (Darlene) grandchildren, Wesley, Jeffrey, Corey and Jamie Hoffman, Kathryn Cameron, Carolyn Gibson, Cindi (Mark) Polowy, Teresa Sala and Alexi Hoffman as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Jack was born in Neudorf and raised on the farm in the Melville area of Saskatchewan. He started his hardware business career as store manager for Hayes Hardware in White Fox, later moving to Carrot River hardware as store manager. In 1957 he and the family moved to Winnipeg where he took the position of buyer for Falcon Wholesale Hardware Ltd. He worked hard and took great pride in his many achievements. He retired from the hardware business in 1974. During his business years as well as in his retirement, Jack and Ellen did extensive travelling visiting many countries. He would happily tell you about his trips to Switzerland, Japan Greece, Rome, South Africa, Barbados, Israel, Denmark, USA and most of Canada. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Calvary Temple Sanctuary, Winnipeg. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. An interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Bruce Logan. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff on 2E in Corcordia Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers an an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one choice.
