Olga was born on September 20, 1918 in Brokenhead, MB She was raised on the family farm along the Brokenhead River and worked very hard with the rest of the family. She attended Brokenhead School until 1932 when they moved to their farm in Semple, MB and continued her education at Brookside School. Olga worked for a short time at Pitchs store in Libau until marrying Michael in 1938, building their own homestead together immediately thereafter. Throughout their 63 year marriage, they raised their family through many hardships as well as providing a home for many young teachers of the Hoey East School. Living and working on the homestead for 47 years, Mike and Olga decided to retire and move to East Selkirk in 1986. They remained there until 2000, when they relocated to Selkirk.
