Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESTER FRANK MINION "LES" 1921 - 2003 Lester passed away peacefully on February 19, 2003 with his family at his side. Les leaves to mourn his loving wife of 59 years, Alice; son Ron (Diane) adoring grandchildren, Steven and Carrie. In addition to his immediate family, he will also be deeply missed by his extended family, Annette and Scott Greene; and his "honorary" grandchildren, Matthew and Mikayla Greene and Matthew Held. Less grandchildren adored him and they meant the world to him. Also cherished in Lesters memory are brothers, Jerome (Betty), Aaron (Ella), and Lloyd (Sally) sister Lucretia Gallagher (James) sisters-in-law, Beatrice, Elseda and Marie; and many nieces and nephews in the U.S.A. Preceding Les were his son John; his parents; and three brothers. Les was born in Cottonwood County, MN, on March 26, 1921. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years before moving to Canada in 1972. Les was also a carpet layer for many years. Lester was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church and held many different positions within the church until his health failed. Les was an extremely likable man. He was a pillar of strength to his family and a great source of companionship to many. He possessed an incredible sense of humour, which he shared till his passing day. His faith and honour will always be admired. A memorial service will be held at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 600 Minto St., on Saturday, February 22 at 11:00 a.m. A light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 600 Minto St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 2R1 or to a charity of your choice, if so desired. Lesters family would like to thank Dr. Kotecha and Dr. Maharaj and the staff at the Heritage Lodge for all their kindness, compassion and care.
