Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER JOSEPH CORMIE February 11, 1908 - February 19, 2003 Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night Do not go gentle into that good night Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Dylan Thomas Walter Joseph Cormie "raged against the dying of the light" for the last two years of his life. He suffered advanced oedema during this time. Throughout his 95 years, his curiosity and interest in learning remained strong. Walter Cormie has earned degrees in Arts, Science, and Engineering. He also attained technical trade diplomas enabling him to be a Mr. Fix-it man in his neighbourhood. His working years were divided between Bristol Aerospace and the Canadian National Railway. Early in his life, he taught school in the Canadian Arctic. Walter was a responsible and caring father to his two children, Gloe and Suzanne, and a loving husband for 61 years to his wife, Jeanne. He was also a disciplined person, who loved solitude and the beauty of nature. He planted and tended a garden into his late eighties, redesigning gardening equipment to facilitate this. He will be missed by his wife Jeanne; his daughters, Gloe and Suzanne; relatives, friends, and former colleagues. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 1:00 p.m., at St. Nicholas Church. Prayers will be held Thursday, February 27, 7:30 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel.
