JULIAN GAMBY 1924 - 2003 Peacefully, at his residence on Friday, February 21, 2003, Julian Gamby passed away at the age of 78 years. Julian will be sadly missed and remembered by his wife of 48 years, Bernadette, and their children, Janine Kozmet (Frank), Lucy Felbel, Denise (Steven) and Jacquie Pontedeira (John) grandchildren, Steven and Diane Kozmet, Stephanie, Jessica and Jonathan Felbel and Melina and Jaylen Pontedeira. He also leaves to mourn his passing his sister-in-law Henriette and her family, Joseph (Lil), George (Carol), Shirley-Anne (Chris) and Andre (Cathy) and their children, as well as Bernadettes brothers and sisters and their families throughout Canada, the U.S.A. and Norway. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph (1977) and Madeleine (1996) and by his brother Albert (1992). Julian was born on the family farm in Rosser. He spent most of his life farming and took satisfaction from crops in the bin, hay in the loft and machinery that ran smoothly. In later years, he took great pride in woodworking projects for his grandchildren. Playing cards was one of his favourite pastimes as well as watching sports. In 1997, he retired to Agape Villa in Southdale where he made many new friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to family and friends for their support and prayers. Special thanks to Dr. C. Hildahl and the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Program. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Mark George at the Ste. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. in Windsor Park on Tuesday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Archibald Street, following the Mass. Pallbearers will be Fernando Pontedeira, George Cherlet, Raymond Frey, Joseph, George and Andre Gamby. In lieu of flowers, donations in Julians memory may be sent to the Variety Club of Manitoba, 611 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, R3M 0A7 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3G 9Z9. Your memory is our keepsake, From which well never part. God has you in His keeping, We have you in our hearts. Gone are the days we used to share, But in our hearts, you are always there.
