DOLORES ("TEXIE") SILLS Dolores ("Texie"), aged 84, passed on peacefully at Oceanview Care Facility, White Rock, BC, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Friday, February 21. Formerly Dolores Texmo, she was predeceased in 1983 by her husband Herb Sills. Dolores was born in Pinawa, MB, and lived her life principally in Neepawa, MB, Windsor, ON, Baie dUrfe, QC, Courtenay, Comox and White Rock, BC. An avid golfer (both on and off the screen), champion tennis player and passionate skier in her youth, and well-travelled through her profession in the travel industry, Dolores inspired us all in her pursuit of an active, feisty and full life. She played bridge (Master Points level) to the end, and was a voracious reader. With her easy and infectious rapport with people, her quick wit and irrepressible sense of humour, Dolores was also an entertaining and lively raconteur. We will miss all of this very, very much. Dolores will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Joanne Bergen (Rick Roberts) of Vancouver and Susan Sills of Heidelberg, Germany; her son Martin Sills (Julie) of Williams Lake; her three grandchildren, Christopher Bergen (Sharin) of London England, Shauna Bergen (Gabriel) of White Rock and Gregory Sills of Surrey, BC; her only surviving sibling Evelyn Burns of Victoria, BC; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 14615 16th Ave. in White Rock on Wednesday, February 26 at 2:30 p.m.
