BERNICE ALICE TOUGH (MUIR) August 25, 1928 - February 22, 2003 With her family beside her, Bunny passed away on February 22, 2003, after a brief illness. Beloved wife of William; mother of Frank (Amy), Elizabeth Caraganis (George) and Lesley (Roman) grandmother of Lesley, Phillip and Beth. Predeceased by her father Tom, mother Elizabeth, sister Betty, brothers, Jack and Bert. She is survived by her sister Joan, brother Jim and many nieces and nephews. Bunny grew up in Norwood and as a teenager worked in many capacities at Malabars. She also later worked at Red Top and the Winnipeg Clinic and ran her own sewing business for many years. She volunteered for several years, teaching sewing at Age and Opportunity, Meals on Wheels and the Salvation Army. She was active for many years in the Norwood United Church Womens Group. She embraced all of their activities and especially enjoyed sewing for the Christmas sales and layettes. The close friendships she made in the group meant a great deal to Mom. She also cherished her life long friendship with Pat Rienart. Her family was foremost to Bunny and she had many friends and will be missed by all. She made sure that Christmas and birthdays were times of great joy and her home was always open to friends and relations. Her loves included pets, reading, gardening, needlepoint, upholstering, decorating, furniture finishing, baking, canning, freezing and sewing just about anything. The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Sarah Kredentser, CancerCare Manitoba, Wheelchair Service of Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital Emergency Department and Victoria Hospital ICU, especially nurses Elsa, Harriet and Lisa. Thanks also to the many neighbours and friends who extended kindness during Bunnys last illness. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bunnys life will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Norwood United Church, 160 St. Marys Rd. with Rev. Dr. Susan Tough officiating.
