ANNIE WEISS 1919 - 2003 Peacefully, at home, Anne Weiss passed away at the age of 83, on February 22, 2003. Anne was raised in Transcona, as the only daughter in a family with five brothers. After being married, she resided in the north end of Winnipeg all her life, with her dear husband Frank. Anne worked as a housekeeper for 15 years, and developed many close relationships during that time. She was a devoted mother, wife and Na-Na. Anne loved to cook, bake, knit, bowl and garden. There was always an extra place at the table for any unexpected company. Anne was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Frank Weiss. Anne will be remembered by her three children, Myrna (Mac) Fisk with Charlynn, John (Lori) Weiss with Jonathan (Candice) and Kristen, Glenn Sr. (Karen) Weiss with Christy and Glenn Jr.; and one great-granddaughter Charna. Also left to mourn are sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilf (Betty) Churko, Bernice Churko, Lorraine Dubyna and Jean Dubyna; and many nieces and nephews. Forever missed by her family and dearest friend Steffanie Cheslock. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital (4U9) for all the wonderful care given to Anne during her stay. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. with a gathering of family and friends to follow in the Glen Eden reception centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annes name may be made to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation Inc., 2300 McPhillips St., R3V 3M3.
