Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREVEREND D. WILTON FRASER It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Wilton Fraser, on Monday, February 24, 2003 at East View Personal Care Home, Neepawa, MB, at the age of 92. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Farmer, Gimli, MB, Brenda (Stan) Hazelwood, Dryden, ON; and son Kenneth (Shirley) Fraser, Argyle, MB; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and his sister Gwen Osborne, Thunder Bay, ON. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn in 1996, his parents, one sister and a grandson. Wilton was born in Kenton, MB on April 18, 1910 where he was raised. He attended Brandon University and United College in Winnipeg where he received his theology degree in 1947. His education was interrupted by the Second World War where he served as a lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Evelyn and Wilton were married in 1941 in Brandon, MB. After receiving his degree, Wilton served as a travelling missionary in the Thunder Bay area until 1948 when he accepted a call to First United Church in Dryden. In 1959, he was called to serve at Rosedale United Church (now Churchill Park United) where he was until 1966 when he was called to the Greater Neepawa and Area Parish, where he remained until his retirement in 1975. Dad never retired in the truest sense of the word as he managed to find opportunities to care for others both here in Canada and the United States. After leaving the Dryden area, Dad and Mom spent summer vacations beside Lake Wabigoon and they especially enjoyed their winter home in Mesa, AZ where they made many good friends, Dad never met a stranger. Dad was held in high esteem by both his family and those whose lives he touched. He was recognized for his compassion when he was presented with the Paul Harris Fellowship by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Dad planted seeds of kindness everywhere he went. By his example, he taught us morals and values. We will cherish his memory for always. LOVE LIVES ON Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa in care of arrangements.
