Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLADYS EMILY STIBBARD (nee HAWKINS) October 30, 1912 - February 24, 2003 It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gladys Emily Stibbard on Monday, February 24, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg, MB at the age of 90 years. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, sons, Gerry Stibbard (Joan) of Mississauga, ON and Barry Stibbard (Jean) of Winnipeg; grandsons, Derek Stibbard (Angie) of Ottawa, ON, Andrew (Stephanie) and Darren Stibbard (Stacy) of Winnipeg; granddaughter, Karen Ferguson (Rob) of Lawton, OK, USA, and great-grandsons, Zachery and Nicholas of Lawton. She will also be sadly missed by her niece, Margaret Deveraux (Gary) of Hillsboro, OR, USA. She was predeceased in 1975 by her husband, Jack, and by her brothers Leslie, Ted, and Syd. Gladys was born in Balmoral, MB, the first female of the first generation of the Hawkins side in Canada. She grew up and was educated in Balmoral. Gladys met Jack in 1933 and they married on October 9, 1939 in Balmoral. They first lived in Minnedosa, MB and then moved to Winnipeg in 1940. In 1948 they moved to their home in Riverview. She resided there until she moved to the Riverview Health Centre when it opened in 1997. She was a kind, caring and gentle woman. She loved her family greatly and was as proud of them as they were of her. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge and had been an active member of the Anglican Church Women of St. Lukes Anglican Church. The family wishes to offer special thanks to the many friends that she made at Riverview and especially to the staff of CD 1 for all of the wonderful care that she received over the years. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Worship Centre of the Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre, (CD 1), 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
