MARGARET HLATKY (nee THOMAS) April 24, 1917 - February 26, 2003 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grand-mother on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 85 years after a brief illness, with her family by her side. She will be deeply missed by her loving children, sons, Bill (Gina), Gary (Dan), Bob (Ila) and daughters, Velma McCaw (Alan), Betty Vermette (Richard), Judy Zygarliski (Gerald), Donna DeMarco (Linden) and Kathy Kowalchuk (Ron) 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael and a son Lawrence. Mom was kind and loving, always putting others needs ahead of her own. She loved her family a great deal and was as proud of them as they were of her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Zeiler, the staff of the Beausejour Hospital for their care and compassion and to the wonderful home care staff of Stony Plains Terrace. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB, with Fr. Owen Steeves officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Gull Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Bonnie Franks, Dale Saunders, David Hlatky, Jason Hlatky, Kelly Zygarliski and Michael DeMarco.
